People

RegNet comprises academic staff from the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies (RSPAS) at the Australian National University, including research and postdoctoral fellows, postgraduate students and research support staff. It also includes distinguished scholars from other ANU centres and from institutions outside the ANU who are engaged in related fields of enquiry. RegHealth draws upon inter-faculty expertise at the Australian National University, and also expertise from other universities and from regulatory stakeholders in Australia and internationally, through the well-established regulatory research network, RegNet.


Dr Judith Healy

Judith Healy has researched and published widely on health and social policies. She directs RegHealth, and in particular, manages the ARC Linkages Project.


Professor John Braithwaite

John Braithwaite contributes to the intellectual development of RegHealth and its publications and led the nursing home study. He is a chief investigator in the ARC Linkages Project.


Professor Valerie Braithwaite

Valerie Braithwaite is a chief investigator in the ARC Linkages Project on the nursing home industry case study. She also advises on the relevance to the health sector on topics such as trust and transparency based on regulatory findings in areas such as tax compliance.


Dr Paul Dugdale

Paul Dugdale is Director of Chronic Disease Management for ACT Health, Associate Professor of Public Health at the ANU, and director of the ANU Centre for Health Stewardship. The Centre undertakes work on health department administration, clinical governance and the legal basis of health stewardship. He was ACT Chief Health Officer, and prior to that worked in the Commonwealth Department of Health, in NSW Health, was Medical Superintendent at Liverpool Hospital (Sydney ), and was private secretary to a Commonwealth Minister for Health, Neal Blewett. His research interests include health policy, financing, and regulation from a social and political theory perspective.


Professor Toni Makkai

Toni Makkai, previously Director of the Australian Institute of Criminology, currently Dean of the ANU College of Arts and Sciences, was a partner investigator in the ARC Linkages Project in the nursing home industry case study.
